3-20

Hello again.
We are in Tarifa Spain, just about the southern most point. It´s like a little San Diego. The post cards make it look all sunny and full of wind surfers and bikinis. It´s likely true, but just like San Diego, it has it´s rainy days. We arrived just in time for one. There´s heavy wind and some rain, but it´s fun. The surf looks so dramatic this way. And when we walk, we can lean into the wind and can barely walk against it.

We are a little sad because the reason that we are in Tarifa was to embark on a trip to Morocco, in Africa. We´ve really been looking forward to this. But given the current war situation, it seems today like it might be smarter to wait and see how things pan out. So for now, our next step is as much a mystery to us as it is to you. Possibly Portugal. We´ll let you know.

Our hostel doesn´t have a heater, so we picked up a water heater (immersion heater) and we´re having fun drinking hot chocolate, and hot tea, and filling up little hot water bottles for our beds. We thank Rick Steves (guide book author) for the immersion heater idea, and thank Nate and Colin for the Rick Steves book.

Happy Birthday to Libby!!!

All´s Well. Just a quick update to let you know where we are.
We are in Ronda, Spain. Very quaint and picturesque on a hill above a breathtaking gorge.
We´ve been here 2 days.
Before that we were in Capileira, a mountain pueblo just below the snow capped mountains in the Sierra Nevadas of Spain. Enjoyed some great hiking and, as of yet, the greatest relaxation of our travels. The town was practically all ours, and nearly deserted. We were there for 3 nights.
Before that, we were in Granada, and that´s where we left off on the last blog.
Happy trails.

And Happy Birthday to Jean Parker and Clay Parker!!
